Technomoral Conversations: What the Majority World Can Teach Us about AI In this Technomoral Conversations pan

  • Edinburgh Futures Institute 1 Lauriston Place Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 9EF United Kingdom (map)

AI models learn and reproduce biases from their training data, which primarily comes from English language sources in the US and other Western countries. Meanwhile, the work of training and making AI ‘safer’ is often outsourced to under-supported workers in developing countries. While Silicon Valley tech companies and Western governments dominate AI discussions, the Majority World has invaluable insights that are often overlooked. This Technomoral Conversations panel will feature leading voices from the Majority World, sharing their experiences, issues, and visions for a more inclusive AI future.

Join Tarcizio Silva, Kingsley Owadara, Srravya Chandhiramowuli, and Shannon Vallor for this important discussion.
