AI for Everyone: Breaking Down Barriers with the Living with AI Lounge
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a real hot topic, particularly in the last couple of years, and we are beginning to see many ways in which AI is being used to shape our society. However, AI can be a daunting subject to tackle, surrounded by hype, disinformation and technical jargon.
When we launched Living with AI in September 2023, it was our mission to get the people of Scotland more informed and engaged in conversations around AI by making AI understandable and accessible, regardless of our learners’ previous experience with tech, data or AI.
With over 1,000 Living with AI learners, we’re on the way to realising that mission…but we want to reach out to more people in different ways.

What is the Living with AI Lounge?
The Living with AI Lounge is a fun, free event perfect for anyone looking to better understand AI.
Designed to give the people of Scotland an introduction to the world of AI, the Living with AI Lounge promises a line-up of speakers and demonstrations to show the impact AI is having on our society and work, explore the challenges we face with AI, and discover what AI holds for us in the future.
In a world full of AI disinformation and misunderstanding, Living with AI aims to give people a better grasp on the impact that AI is currently having on our society and work, exploring the challenges that we face with AI, and discovering what AI will hold for us in the future.
What’s happening at the Living with AI Lounge?
The influence of AI stretches across different sectors and the Living with AI will touch on some of the different ways AI is being used across local community groups, in mental health support, in art and music, in the fight against climate change and more. The event will also give you the opportunity to ask our Living with AI expert panel your burning AI related questions, in two Ask the Expert sessions across the day.
The Living with AI Lounge features a host of talks, demonstrations, and exhibits designed to show how AI is currently being used in our lives and society, in visible and demonstrable ways that touch our everyday lives.
Delivered in a straightforward, engaging and accessible way, the Living with AI Lounge promises to be an empowering event from which we hope you will leave ready to get involved in the conversations and decision about AI that are happening around you.
