Join our People's Panel on AI & Climate

Join us on Wednesday 26 March in Edinburgh to explore how Artificial Intelligence could shape the fight against the climate crisis, and share your thoughts!

We're inviting members of the public to join us for a day of discovery, discussion and debate, where we'll navigate the delicate balance of AI's benefits and challenges in climate action.

No prior knowledge is needed. We'll provide a full wrap-around AI literacy experience, breaking down what we mean when we say AI, how AI technologies work, and its role in both helping and hindering efforts to tackle the climate crisis.

We want to amplify public voices in conversations around AI, and as a Panel Member, you will have the opportunity to shape priorities around AI and climate action. We hope you can join!

How To Get Involved

To take part, the first step is completing the form below. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete.
The deadline for applications is 8am, Monday 10 March, with selected participants contacted by Wed 12 March.

We’re looking for people who are curious and ready to share their views.

As a People’s Panel Member, you’ll help shape priorities around AI and climate policy, with your voice, opinions and experiences forming an important part of future reports on AI & Climate from the Scottish AI Alliance.

We're looking for:

  • A day of your time – Wednesday 26 March, 9am–4pm (in-person, central Edinburgh)

  • Your insights & opinions – No AI or climate expertise needed, just your perspective

  • Participation in pre/post-event digital sessions – Various times available

What To Expect

The day will be hosted by the Scottish AI Alliance, and feature a combination of discussions over cups of tea, short presentations and debating the answers to interesting questions about the delicate balance of the use of AI & the climate. As a public participant, you will be joining our Community Advisory Group and various other people working on issues around AI & climate, to help ensure that public voices are part of the conversations on AI.

Notetakers and facilitators will capture these discussions, and what you think about issues will help us understand public perspectives on key issues.

Participants will find out about and feedback on innovative uses of AI within climate action, as well as exploring the carbon & energy costs of technologies like Generative AI.

If you would like to take part and share your experiences, we would love to have you!

  • Take part in facilitated discussions & workshops throughout the day

  • Have your voice heard on AI and climate action

  • Travel & accommodation provided (if needed)

  • A £150 contribution fee (or alternative options)
