At the Scottish AI Alliance when we say Trustworthy AI what we mean is that we need to be able to trust how, when and why AI is used. Trustworthy AI must be transparent so that we can observe how these systems help organisations make decisions, and must be disclosed so that people are aware of the use of AI in their lives.  Decisions made by trustworthy AI must be explainable, and we must have confidence in the reasoning behind them. When AI is trustworthy, we can be assured that it will function in a secure and safe way and that its risks are continually monitored and managed, and are protected from attacks or misuse. When AI is Trustworthy, it provides a robust environment from which to deliver the benefits of AI to the people of Scotland.
