The focus in 2023-24 has been on ensuring that the AI Register is positioned well to become the home for information for both members of the public and public sector users of AI.
To deliver this we have -
Begun the process of mandating the use of the Register for all public sector use of AI. This will be delivered in a phased approach, starting with core Scottish Government uses.
Have started building a library of relevant policy, risk and technical information which will help public sector AI users build safer, better systems.
Worked with colleagues in areas such as health, where having a traceable and accurate development and validation library for their systems is required – with the result of increasing efficiency through one time recording of key data.
We have also started the process of developing internal and external guidance on what the Register does and how people can raise concerns.
