Michael Boniface is Chief Operating Officer at Kythera.AI, a Scottish based Technology company delivering AI products and services into the computer games, creative and simulation industries. Prior to joining Kythera he worked with Opportunity North East with a focus on incubating and scaling tech businesses and the growing company cluster in the north east of Scotland.

A graduate of University of Bristol and University of St Andrews, Michael started his career at Grampian Country Food Group in Aberdeen. He has held senior positions at Ingenico and JP Morgan before moving into the creative industries, joining Dundee Games Developer Realtime Worlds. From 2011, working with investors from California and China, Michael built and ran two successful interactive technology companies, Reloaded Productions and Skymoons Edinburgh, overseeing the successful sale of Skymoons to a US games publisher in 2018.

In conjunction with Opportunity North East and CodeBase, Michael provides mentoring and support to companies within the Barclays Eagle Lab network across the UK, covering a wide range of products and sectors. He supports development and education in Web3 and has consulted with a range of NGO’s to understand and develop best practises to tackle large societal problems through technology.
